The Accident

With the same excitement, jai speed up the car.
After a neat fifteen minutes journey, jai took a halt at the side of the road and saw Vignudha who seemed to be thinking something.
Yes, she was sunk in thoughts. Whenever she get a chance, she is thinking about her past days, friends and about how she finally managed to take a decision on her own. If everything was perfect, she will now be in a flight completing almost half of the journey to U.S. But just because of her changed decision, she is now in car with jai in India. She thanked herself coming out of thoughts and realised that the car gets stopped.
“Jai, what happened?”
He showed her a crowd on the opposite road. They both headed towards the spot and an old man covered in blood. Everyone was looking eagerly at the old man and murmuring about the accident to their next person. One among them said that he called an ambulance. It looked as if the accident happened minutes before. He is still alive. Jai and Vignudha, who saw him in severe condition, thought that it would be a waste of time to wait for an ambulance. So, both decided to take him to the nearest hospital in their car.
When jai asked some people to lift the old man in to the car, all of a sudden, a ‘press’ van came. In fraction of seconds, a lady with mike and a bloke with a camera got out of van, came to them and started shooting the entire scene. Lady was enquiring the people about the accident and what’s been the situation. Jai requested the helpers to ignore them and shift him swiftly in to the car. Cameraman is shooting the scene focusing on old man, jai, Vignudha, some helpers and the car until they moved to some distance. Then he shifted the focus on to the lady with mike, got into the van and started following the car.
“Public here saying that this accident had happened ...” cameraman was focusing sometimes on jai’s car and sometimes on the lady while she was speaking. She is speaking in such a hurry as though she need not to take a breath.
“... twenty minutes before. Witnesses are saying that when the old man trying to take a slow and neat turn, suddenly a truck hit the back edge of the car with a very high speed which makes the car to hit the divider. Truck driver had not stopped. They got stunned on seeing the accident and so no one noticed the truck number. We can see that the old man was fully covered in blood and still alive. Public called to an ambulance long time ago but there is no sign of it.  So they are taking him to hospital in car. You can see the car breaking the speed limit to save the victim. Hope he is still alive. Watch exclusive on Livelife channel. With camera man Suraj, Maya. Livelife channel, stay tuned for more updates.”
In a very short time, they reached to the nearest hospital. As soon as they entered inside the hospital, three nurses understood the situation and hurried towards them. Vignudha went to the reception, filled the form and signed it. Next minute, the old man was in the operation theatre. Both jai and Vignudha sat in the waiting hall while the others who came to help left the hospital. Live-life channel van found nowhere near the hospital. They might have got other exclusive news to cover.

Blood Donor

Jai and Vignudha are waiting in the hospital. But why are they waiting? Aren’t they on their way to C.S? Why then? Is he, the old man, relative or neighbor to any of them or any of their friends? Who is he? Actually he is no one to them. He is just an individual waiting for help and they are his help.
After five minutes, a nurse came to them and asked for blood donors as the patient lost lot of blood.
Both said, “I can’t” because in a difference of two to three months they both gave blood.
Then nurse said, “Ok, no problem. Please sit. We will make the arrangements” and left.
Within five minutes, a car took a halt at the entrance and a person in suit hurried to reception speaking in mobile, “I will be there in thirty five minutes. Mr.Mohit will handle the meeting until I get there.” He asked the driver to wait outside.

Anyone can understand with his behavior that he is in a hurry. But why is he in such a hurry? He said to someone in mobile that he will be back for meeting. Which means, he walked out in the middle of the meeting. But, Why?

He went straight to reception and then along with the nurse. After about a half an hour, he came out of the room folding up his hand tightly and started speaking on mobile, “Can’t he handle the meeting at least for half an hour. Ask them to have a small break. I’ll be there soo ... Cancel the meeting. Do as I say prakash. I know what it worth.”
On seeing Vignudha and jai in the waiting hall, his heart made a jolt and his eyes filled with tears of happiness. He ran and stood in front of them.
“Ajay”, Vignudha cried as she saw him.  His name echoed in the silent hall.
Jai hugged him the moment he caught sight of Ajay.
“How are you, da? It’s really been long time.”
“Actually, not as always, Jai, I thought you would have changed. But you’re still the same.”
“Ajay”
“You too, Vignudha”, he embraced her.
“I have tried to reach you in all possible ways. But I got no response from you. Why is it, Ajay?” asked Jai.
He hesitated for a moment and said “I was angry on you, Jai. I thought that you would support ‘Him’, not only you, everyone of us. But it happened the other way. You all made ‘Him’ feel guilty. I tried to speak to him. Everything happened just like that. I know that this day will come. I am just waiting.”
All three of them sat there.
“How is ‘He’?” Ajay asked Vignudha, expecting her response will solve his deep-rooted questions. But again, silence filled between them.
Ajay tried to understand and for a change of topic asked them, “Anyway, what are you doing here?”
When Jai was about to respond, she asked Ajay, “let’s all unite again.”
He smiled and said “I am dying to, Vignudha. I ...”
Doctor came to them, said “He is alright, don’t worry. Minor injuries all over the body, but lost lot of blood ...” turned towards Ajay, “Thanks to you Mr. Ajay, you are always on time. Your service needs to be appreciated”, Shook his hand and left.
“You came here to donate blood?”
“Vignudha, don’t be surprised. I’m a regular blood donor for this hospital.” He took a moment and said “I’ll always keep my promise to ‘Him’. I believe, you both too.”
All three had just a glimpse of past taking an oath to ‘Him’ that they will donate the blood as frequently as possible.
Ajay continued “So, you have admitted the old man. Who is he?”
“We don’t know. We are on our way to reach you. When he saw a crowd ...” Vignudha said every detail that had happened.
“This is what we are, Vignudha. Not everyone will be like us. ‘He’ already made us to realize that we are not like others. We can be the change and we can bring the change.”
“You are right, Ajay. But it took two years for me to realize what I want to do.”
They went to saw the old man, who is in the ICU, took his mobile and informed to his relatives. They felt everything was OK, So they came out of the hospital.
“Ajay, why you are not attending your calls?” asked Vignudha, who is unexpectedly observing him ignoring the phone calls.
“It’s nothing.” He lied.
Yes, Ajay lied to her. He is actually getting continuous phone calls from his office about his Meeting, from the start of their conversation. He said to cancel the meeting on seeing jai and Vignudha. He has not given any other details to prakash. He doesn’t care about anything. It’s really important for him to stay with Jai.

‘We are on our way to reach you’ Does Vignudha lied to Ajay?
No, she hadn’t. She returned from airport aiming to unite his friends for ‘Him’. Based on her possibilities and distance, she made a course one after the other, starting with Jai, then C.S, Ajay, Saveena and Chandana.
It’s like a quote “if you help someone, help will come to you.” Vignudha and jai helped the old man, which in turn, they got Ajay without any effort. Sometimes it happens instantly where as in some other cases it will take some time, like it took two years to put an end to the Ajay’s waiting to hang around with his best ever chums.
