We can't change the world's cruelty,
We can't change the past actions,
We can't change the other’s feelings,
We can't change the other’s way of thinking,
but If
We, as an individual, change our mindset in to a righteous path,
We can change the future.
Famous youngster in the park
When both are talking further, suddenly a large group of people surrounded a person asking for autographs and photographs. Surprisingly, large crowd formed with uproar and cheering as though a famous films star walking on road. Jai and Vignudha are unable to see the person. Both got to their feet and walked towards the crowd. They saw a youngster signing autographs to their fans. Both stepped back seeing each other’s face with puzzlement.
Jai asked “who is she? Heroine? Pop singer? Who is she?”
“I too don’t know Jai. Whoever she is, she seemed to be very famous”.
“Anyhow let’s go”, Jai called Vignudha.
While they were leaving, the youngster unexpectedly saw them and suddenly got excited. She managed to see them clearly from the middle of the crowd. She tried to escape from crowd and shouted “hello, excuse me” for Jai and Vignudha. They both saw that she hurrying towards them and shocked. She finally came, said “one second” to them. She turned towards the crowd and shouted with thankfulness “thanks for your support friends; it’s time for me to leave. Thank you, thank you once again”.
Then she signed to Jai to get into car, she too stepped into car and said “go, quick” Crowd already circled the car.
“Hey, who are you? Why you are..?”
She interrupted jai’s words by simply saying “move, you will know everything soon”.
Vignudha said jai to drive. With puzzled face, jai started the car and drove.
After some distance, youngster said “how are you, jai? How are you Vignudha? I am so happy to see you.”
Jai stopped the car with overwhelm as though he dashed something unexpected. With such astonishment, at a time both asked her “how do you know our names?”
She simply smiled and said “I know you cannot be familiar with me, it’s been two years we met. But how can I forget you guys, my life will be totally ruined if you guys not there to support me”.
They looked at her dazedly as though she talking in a china language.
“Ok ok, I will give you a clue. Do you remember an incident that happened in the middle of the tour two years ago?”
When she finished, they make out who she is. They both looked each other amusingly and with excitement, both shouted “Sahithi”.
“Yeah”, she replied with smile.
“Sahithi, I don’t know what to say. I am so happy to see you .how are you? Where have you been?” Vignudha enquired enthusiastically.
“I am fine. Thank you. ”Sahithi hesitated for a second and asked “how is ‘He’?”. As soon as, she asked this question, happiness from their faces faded out. Jai and Sahithi looked into Vignudha eyes expecting some answer. Vignudha looked down dismally as she doesn’t know what to say. Sahithi understood the situation as both got upset and became unspoken.
“Ok”, Sahithi broke the silence. “Anyhow, I am so happy to meet you. Jai please stop the car at the corner”.
Before stepping out from car, Sahithi gave her visiting card and said “I am bit busy. See you soon, take care”.
Jai said “bye” to her.
Vignudha gave her a “bye” hug.
When they both got into car, jai said “I know ‘He’ is not with you or even in touch with you. If you both are together, I am sure you won’t come alone to me”. Vignudha shed tears and buried her head in her hands. Jai came close to her, wiped her eyes and tried to make her feel normal.
Finally he asked “now what? Where we have to go?”
“C.S”
Without speaking further, jai started.
‘Incident’, ‘how is He`, Vignudha remembered Sahithi words and began memorizing the past.
In the forest
4 men were trying to rape Sahithi in the forest nearby the beach. She was trying to escape from them, crying and shouting for help. Then 4 youngsters came to the scene and started staring at them.
One of the rapists saw them and warned in Hindi, “Hey what are you doing here. Go away, otherwise you will be dead”.
Then a voice came out of nowhere, said “don’t worry about us. We are here to help you”.
No one among the rapists knows English except Hindi. So he asked “what?” in Hindi.
Jai translated ‘His’ words to Hindi for them.
He warned the youngsters again “We don’t need your help. Go away”.
Mean while Sahithi managed to break away from them and ran off. But these boys rushed towards her and caught her before rapists did. Boys brought her back and surrendered her to them. She was crying and scolding the boys loudly. One of the rapists slapped her brutally. She fell off and he sat on her, holding her hands tightly away. She was crying and restlessly trying to escape.
When he was trying to kiss her, again a loud voice came out of nowhere “Kamosh”.
Silence filled everywhere for a second.
Then one of the boys stepped forward and shouted in Hindi, “Why are you crying, shut up”
She was still crying calm knowing nothing what to do. A hilarious laugh by the boy broke the silence. She and all the rapists saw him perplexingly.
Boy stopped laughing and started talking to her “What the heck is going on here? What are you trying to do? Escape? That’s what you think to do when someone is trying to rape you? They want to see you dead, either physically or mentally, don’t matter. If someone is trying to kill you, do you think escape is the best solution? How long will you escape? How long will you feel the fear? It’s not the solution. You have to see their end before they did. It’s the only solution”.
She looked at him helplessly.
He continued “oh, I forgot you have neither strength nor weapons. So that’s what you are thinking, am I right?”
All the rapists are looking at him unable to understand a single word as they don’t know the language. But they are thinking that he is trying to help them, convincing her for a sex. So they were listening to him without making any noise.
“Beautiful nails...” he continued, “...Strong teeth, high heeled sandals, sand and stones. You’ve got everything. What else do you need? Aren’t they enough for you? It’s your life, your problem. You have to help yourselves. No one is going to help you”.
He finally said “kill or get killed”.
He stepped back gesturing his friends to do so and the rapists to carry on. His words make her realized and encouraged. She stopped crying and gnashed her teeth as her entire body filled with anger.
When the rapist tried to kiss her, she nudged her finger sturdily into his eyes and sank her teeth into his left ear. Then she tried to beat him, gathering her entire strength. When other rapist came towards her, she tried to poke very strongly on their eyes. Their eyes became her main aim to attack. She fought restlessly. Finally with great effort, she managed to won the fight.
Boys encouraged her shouting “Maaro, Maaro” from the start of the fight till end. Jai and C.S shot the entire scene with their cameras.
When she finished, both connected their mobiles to cameras and loaded the video to their mobiles.
She came to the boys and said “Thank you. I ...”
He interrupted her and said “why thanking us. It’s you who helped yourselves”. She smiled with a sob.
“Actually we want to ask you permission”, C.S asked her.
“What?”
“We have taken video and we want to upload it with your permission. So that your bravery and your effort will become inspiration to others. What do you say?”
She nodded in a manner of anything for your help. They both uploaded the video in social media. They called her to join them gesturing their vehicle.
She hesitated for a second, mean while Vignudha and two other girls stepped out and came to them.
Saveena said “don’t worry, come with us. You need some rest”.
Girls took her into vehicle.
Jai and C.S showed their mobiles to others. Everyone got astonished on seeing the mobiles. Within 25 minutes, her video got 3377 likes in social media.
“Vignu, Vignu” jai called.
“What are you thinking Vignudha?” Jai asked her.
“Nothing Jai”, she replied.
“That’s C.S’s home”, Jai let her see the house.
“Do you think it’s that much easy to convince his father even after two years?” asked Jai.
“I don’t think so. And Jai, we have no need to worry about his father. I am worrying about C.S. What if he changed and says ‘no’ to us. I don’t think we can move further successfully without him”, Vignudha replied.
